Virtual Meeting of National Focal Points and Responsible Officials within the Framework of the EU–LAC Bi-Regional Care Pact
13 April 2026On 13 April 2026, the first virtual meeting of national focal points and responsible officials under the EU–LAC Bi-Regional Care Pact took place. The meeting brought together more than 110 participants from both regions.

9 December 2025Berlin hosted the event “Beyond Santa Marta: Bi-regional Cooperation for Tangible Action”, a high-level forum organised by the EU-LAC Foundation that brought together representatives from governments, European and Latin American institutions, the private sector, academia and civil society.

The EU-LAC Foundation advances women’s local political leadership through the EU-LAC Birregional School 2025
2 December 2025The EU-LAC Foundation, through the EU-LAC Women’s International Network (EU-LAC WIN), carried out the EU-LAC Birregional School of Local Political Leadership for Women 2025, a programme designed to strengthen the political leadership capacities of women at the municipal and community levels in Latin America, the Caribbean and the EU.

11 November 2025The EU and sixteen countries from Latin America and the Caribbean —Colombia, Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, and Uruguay— launched, within the framework of the IV CELAC–EU Summit, the Bi-regional Pact on Care.

Latin America, the Caribbean and the EU renew the strategic importance of the bi-regional relationship
9 November 2025The IV EU-CELAC summit brought the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union together in Santa Marta on 9 November. The EU-LAC Foundation attended the meeting as an observer. Leaders from both regions renewed the strategic importance of a bi-regional relationship.
