EU-LAC Foundation joins Observers at the 2012 Iberoamerican Summit

One year after it took up its operations, the EU-LAC Foundation has joined the observers at the 2012 Iberoamerican Summit in Cádiz, Spain.

The EU-LAC Foundation's President, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, and its Executive Director, Jorge Valdez, travelled to Cádiz at the invitation of the Iberoamerican Secretariate General (SEGIB), where they joined other organisations including the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), one of the Foundation's Strategic Partners. They used the opportunity to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with IADB and meet with representatives of other organisations, including ECLAC's Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, and the President and Secretary General of the Network Italy-Latin America (Red Italia-América Latina, RIAL), Gilberto Bonalumi.
