Webinar highlighted positive opportunities for EU relations with Bolivia

Webinar Relaciones Bolivia-UE

Investments in productive chains in renewable energies and green industries that promote employment and sustainable development are some of the work opportunities that Bolivia can take advantage of in its relationship with the European Union. This was highlighted in a webinar organised by the Prisma Group, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the EU-LAC Foundation on Friday 19 April.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, Dr. Adrián Bonilla, highlighted the dynamism of the political dialogue at the EU-CELAC Summit in Brussels last July. At the meeting, agreements were established for joint work on issues such as sustainable development, security, public health, environment, digitalisation and social equity, among others.

During the virtual seminar, the Global Investment Agenda and the EU-LAC Digital Alliance were also addressed, which would allow the mobilisation of public and private resources in the aforementioned areas. The exploratory event served as a space for the exchange of ideas that could be taken into account in Bolivia's relations with the EU.

More information on the Andean countries' relations with the EU can be found in the recording of the seminar "Opportunities for cooperation between the EU and the Andean countries", organised by the EU-LAC Foundation and the General Secretariat of the Andean Community on 8 February. On that occasion, the status of trade and association agreements was assessed, and the challenges and opportunities provided by the Global Gateway initiative, the digital transformation and the transition towards a green and fair economy were reviewed.
