The Universidad de Los Andes is a national and autonomous university that is funded by the State. It is 360m2 big, distributed across three Andean Federal States, in addition to the Medical School, which is located in the cities of Guanare, Valle de La Pascua and Barinas. The University has 11 faculties, 3 campuses and one extension. Its programmes are offered in Spanish. It comprises the following areas: Natural Sciences, Engineering, Architecture and Technology, Agricultural and Sea Sciences, Health Sciences, Pedagogy, and Liberal Arts.
