Summer Course: "Latin America and the European Union: where are we going?"

The Institute of Latin American Studies (IELAT) is pleased to invite participants to the summer course "Latin America and the European Union: Where are we going?", organised by Santander Universidades, the Complutense University and IELAT, in collaboration with the Secretaría General Iberoamericana (SEGIB), the CAF - Development Bank for Latin America and the Banco Santander.

The course objective is to reflect on the situation of the relations between Latin America and the European Union in the new context of international relations; and to evaluate the functioning of current instruments of institutional relations (European Union - Latin America and the Caribbean Summits; Iberoamerican Summits; G-20; OECD; Free Trade Agreements). The bicentenary of 1812 represents an ideal framework to reflect on these issues with a view to evaluating the need to rethink the relations between Latin America and the European Union and especially with Spain.
