The EU-LAC Foundation commissioned the International Prospective Institute to carry out a study entitled “Map of interests between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean – contrasts in the degree of interest between the two regions”.
The study examines the level of knowledge that citizens from Latin America and the Caribbean have about Europe and vice versa. It is based on data of Internet interactions that took place in both regions during one year. It is divided in four chapters. The first chapter contains a methodological note about the publication; the second one a study on the degree of public interest in the other region by category; the third one an analysis of the type of news that interests the other region; and the last one an investigation on the presence of political leaders in the news in the other region.
