SEGIB and EU-LAC Foundation sign collaboration agreement to jointly deepen bi-regional relations between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe

The Executive Director of the EU-LAC International Foundation, Adrián Bonilla Soria, and the Secretary-General of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), Andrés Allamand, signed today a framework cooperation agreement to join efforts to strengthen integration and collaboration between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Based on shared goals of mutual interests and challenges, both institutions will work to generate new impulses for the dialogue linking the countries of the two regions. The following are some of the activities specified in the agreement:

  • Organisation and implementation of congresses, seminars and workshops.
  • Joint publications of interest to both parties.
  • Exchange of documents and information relevant to the bi-regional partnership, such as publications, databases and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Visibility and dissemination of the counterpart's activities, through the virtual calendar, website, social networks or respective newsletters.

For both SEGIB and the EU-LAC Foundation, committed to multilateral interaction and collaboration, the signing of this agreement is an excellent opportunity to bring the two regions closer together through a range of instruments and joint activities ranging from the organisation and implementation of conferences, seminars and workshops to the production of publications and information relevant to the bi-regional partnership in 2022.
