Atlantico University is located in the city of Barranquilla in the Atlantico Department. It was created by the philosopher Julio Enrique Blanco whose efforts in public education as requisite for everyone older than 18 in the coastal town, he designed and started this institution of higher education. A process which started in 1941 and was formalised in 1946.
