Release of the study “Regional Organisations and Mechanisms for Democracy Protection in Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union”

We are pleased to announce that on the 1st of August the EU-LAC Foundation has launched the study “Regional Organisations and Mechanisms for Democracy Protection in Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union”, a study about the protection of democracy through the instruments of the Member States.

The study the result of the 2014 first semestre edition of the Open Call for Research projects funded by the EU-LAC Foundation, and has been directed by Carlos Closa Montero from the European University Institute and the Council for Scientific Research, with a team comprised by Stefano Palestini Céspedes from the same university and Pablo Castillo Ortiz from the University of Sheffield.   

The purpose of the study is to identify the institutional design of the mechanisms of democracy promotion in the regional organisations among the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean.
