Today, the 5th of September, the first press conference for the “Bridge EU-LAC 2016 – for Ecuador” took place in the Hamburg City Hall. The EU-LAC Foundation, the consulates of Ecuador and Uruguay, Staatsrat and Marathon Hamburg got together in order to inform the media about the upcoming solidarity run.
The main topics were information about the earthquake in Ecuador on the 16 of April, the humanitarian and reconstruction work, the “Bridge EU-LAC 2016” and more information on the project in focus: “Project for provision of computers, blackboards and indoor rubbish bins for the educational units in Canton Muisne, Esmeraldas Province”. Muisne was was one of the most affected areas, where around 50 % of the buildings were destroyed in the earthquake – affecting severely the schools and educational units.
