The Netherlands ratifies the Agreement that establishes the EU-LAC Foundation as an International Organisation

On June 14th, the Kingdom of the Netherlands deposited its instrument of ratification of the Constitutive Agreement that establishes the EU-LAC Foundation as an International Organisation.

With this ratification, the Kingdom of the Netherlands becomes the 16th Member State of the EU to ratify the Agreement, testifying its recognition of the Foundation’s new status to more significantly accomplish the objectives and mandates its member States entrusted it with.

Also, the Netherlands has decisively supported the Foundation contributing to its general budget, thus attesting its commitment to promoting the partnership between both regions.

Since the entry into force of the Constitutive Agreement on May 17th, the Foundation operates as an international organisation, as intended by the Heads of State and Government of the 61 Member States of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, and of the European Union itself.

The Foundation is established in Hamburg, Germany, since 2011.
