Abstract
The article seeks to show that the proposal recently presented by the
European Comission, promissing the decreasing of trade barriers for Mercosur’s
agriculture exports to European markets, should not be incautiously interpreted as
a sign that a trade agreement between them will be easier to achieve than the
creation of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). It still remains uncertain
that the European Union will accomplish a deep reform of its common agricultural
police (CAP).
