Mission of the Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation to Buenos Aires

The Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, Paola Amadei was in the Argentinian capital from 6 to 10 November to held meetings with national entities and to participate in the EULAC-FOCUS team discussions as an external expert in the Transectorial Board of this project.

During this visit to Buenos Aires, the Executive Director held meetings with Daniel Raimondi, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ms María Luisa Martino, Director of the Directorate for Women at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation (MINCyT). Furthermore, she met the Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador Aude Maio-Coliche, and representatives of the European diplomatic missions in Argentina. 

On her official visit, the Executive Director visited the national repository of the Foundation’s publications in the country, the ISEN Library (Instituto del Servicio Exterior de la Nación)-MREC (Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto). She also met Ivan Bigas, the General Director of the Secretary of International Affairs of the Universidad de Buenos Aires as well as the Director of the European Union programme at the Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales (UCES) Patricio Degiorgis, and representatives of Fundación Observatorio Pyme (FOP) as well as representatives from Eurochambres. 

From 7 to 10 November, the Executive Director participated in the fourth coordination meeting of the EULAC-FOCUS project, organised by the MINCyT together with the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA).

The main objective of EULAC-FOCUS, a project funded by the European Union through the Horizonte 2020 programme, is that of “giving focus” to the Cultural, Scientific and Social dimension of EU-CELAC relations, with a view to determining synergies and cross-fertilization, as well as identifying asymmetries in bi-lateral and bi-regional relations.
