The Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, Paola Amadei is in Brazil from November 27 to December 5 to hold meetings with national entities and to participate in the International Conference of the Red Euro-Latinoamericana de Gobernabilidad para el Desarrollo (RedGob), which has been supported by the Foundation during the past years.
Within her first mission to the country since having assumed her functions, the Executive Director is visiting Brasilia, Rio and São Paulo. The programme includes meetings with the General Under-Secretary of State of Latin America and the Caribbean, Ambassador Paulo Estivallet de Mesquita in Itamaraty, with the Ambassador Sérgio Eduardo Moreira Lima, President of the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG), and with representatives of the University of São Paulo and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio. In addition, the Director will meet representatives of the Brazilian Service of Support of Small and medium-sized enterprises (SEBRAE), a private entity with the objective to promote competitiveness and the SMEs development, as well as with representatives of the ETHOS Institute. Another meeting is going to be held in Brasilia with Ambassadors of the UE and its member states.
The International Conference organised by RedGob is dedicated to the subject of “sustainability of democracies in the era of Trump”. The event, which is supported by the EU-LAC Foundation, is in this occasion lead by the GIGA Institute of Latin American Studies in Germany (Hamburg) and by the Institute of International Relations of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.

Missão da Diretora Executiva da Fundação EU-LAC ao Brasil
A Diretora Executiva da Fundação EU-LAC, Paola Amadei, está no Brasil de 27 de novembro a 5 de dezembro para reunir-se com entidades nacionais e participar na Conferência Internacional da Red Euro-Latinoamericana de Gobernabilidad para el Desarrollo (RedGob), organização que a Fundação tem vindo a apoiar nos últimos anos.
Em sua primeira missão desde que assumiu suas funções, a Diretora Executiva visita Brasília, Rio e São Paulo. O programa incluí reuniões com o Subsecretário Geral de América Latina e Caraíbas, Embaixador Paulo Estivallet de Mesquita no Itamaraty; com o Embaixador Sérgio Eduardo Moreira Lima, Presidente da Fundação Alexandre de Gusmão (FUNAG); e com representantes da Universidade de São Paulo e da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio. Além disso, a Diretora se encontrará com representantes do Serviço Brasileiro de Apoio às Micro e Pequenas Empresas (SEBRAE), uma entidade privada que busca promover a competitividade e o desenvolvimento dos pequenos negócios e com o Instituto ETHOS. Uma reunião está igualmente prevista em Brasília com os embaixadores da UE e seus países membros.
A Conferência Internacional organizada pela RedGob é dedicada a “Sustentabilidade da democracia na era Trump”. O evento, que conta com o apoio da Fundação EU-LAC, é liderado nesta ocasião pelo Instituto GIGA de Estudos Latino-americanos na Alemanha (Hamburgo) e pelo Instituto de Relações Internacionais da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
