Ministry of Social Development (MIDES)

The Ministry for Social Development of Uruguay is responsible for national social polices, as well as the coordination –at both the sectorial and national level- articulation, monitoring, supervision and evaluation of the plans, programs and projects towards the consolidation of a social redistributive policy. Likewise, the Ministry is assigned the mission of contributing to the development of scenarios for social participation that allow the strengthening of a more active citizenship.
