The Ministry is responsible for to coordinating public policies towards the strengthening of democracy and citizenship participation, the exercise of public rights and liberties, and the rule of law. The Ministry also leads the articulation of policies that are oriented towards the strengthening of decentralization mechanisms, and presents itself as the interlocutor of internal affairs in regards to relations among institutional bodies such as Congress, the deterritorialized entities and other social actors related to the consolidation of the rule of law, the preservation of the internal order and democratic values.
