Miguel Guzmán

Miguel Guzmán has been a member of the Peruvian Diplomatic Service for 30 years, where, among others, he has held senior positions in the areas of international cooperation, defence of cultural heritage and migration policy. He has also been responsible for bilateral issues with some European countries and with Colombia. Abroad, he has held diplomatic posts in South Africa, Costa Rica, Milan, Munich and Colombia.  He holds a Master's degree in international relations from the Diplomatic Academy of his country and a Master's degree in development cooperation from the Complutense University, in addition to having taken specialisation courses at the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights, the WTO and the Peruvian Naval War College. Before becoming a diplomat, Mr Guzmán worked at the Inter American Foundation and interned at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, DC.

Mr Guzmán has been seconded to the EU-LAC Foundation by the Peruvian government as a contribution and support to the institution's objectives and inter-regional dialogue.
