Mi EU/LAC. Mutual Initiative European Union/Latin America and the Caribbean. Ideas That Connect People.

My EU/LAC is an initiative founded about two years ago by two friends: Laurent, a Frenchmen, and Julio, a Mexican 
We realised that there was a lack of understanding of the region among politicians, senior officials, businesses and society at large, even among those working in the field of EU-LAC cooperation. Everyone seems to ignore the reality of the other, even though we live in a globalised world, where international relations define our lives and business possibilities. The name of this initiative deals with the following idea: Mi EU/LAC means in Spanish "Iniciativa Mutua Unión Europea / América Latina y el Caribe" and in English "Mutual Initiative European Union / Latin America and the Caribbean", where "Mi" wants to convey the idea that this initiative is that of two citizens who are part of these two regions and who want to connect people.
The project deals with ideas and ideals that usually promote a debate between society so that, based on the historical, cultural, commercial and linguistic similarities and differences within and between the two regions, a more profound exchange is nurtured on how to improve relations and integrate people's opinions.
English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese are the five languages used depending on the topic. The lines of work are divided into five broad categories: education, human rights, environment, regional integration, and bi-regional cooperation, integrating elements of economics, law, politics, good governance, history, and international relations.
