Meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell

The President of the EU-LAC International Foundation, Leire Pajín, and the Executive Director, Dr Adrián Bonilla, travelled last 9 November to Brussels, Belgium for a working meeting with the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell Fontelles.  During the meeting, the authorities of the EU-LAC Foundation discussed the Work Plan of the international organisation for the year 2022 and exchanged with the High Representative proposals on how to generate new initiatives in order to promote and consolidate the bi-regional strategic relationship between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean.

Likewise, the authorities of the EU-LAC Foundation reported on the activities carried out in 2021 during the meeting. In addition, the participants discussed ways of cooperation between the European Union and the countries of the bi-regional partnership. The High Representative of the European Union highlighted the importance of the Foundation as a useful instrument for both regions, in its function of articulating societies and governments around common agendas.
