The EU-LAC Foundation's Director, Dr Adrián Bonilla, met with Chilean Senator, Guido Girardi to exchange initiatives that contribute to strengthening the visibility of the bi-regional EU-LAC partnership and to address potential opportunities for collaboration.
Guido Girardi became a senator in March 2006 and chairs the Health Committee. He was elected president of the Chilean Senate in 2011, the year of the institution's 200th anniversary. To commemorate the bicentenary, he founded, together with Chilean universities and the Academy of Sciences, the Congress of the Future.
The Congress of the Future is a space for the exchange of ideas between Chileans and world leaders. Organised by the Senate of Chile, it is the largest scientific/citizen meeting in Latin America, which lasts for 6 days, during which various conversations and conferences take place.
Those present discussed opportunities for collaboration in the framework of the next Congress of the Future, which will take place in January 2022.
