During a meeting between Dr. Barbara Göbel, Director of the Ibero-American Institute in Berlin and our Executive Director, Adrian Bonilla, the importance of promoting the visibility of the strategic partnership between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, through the various joint initiatives that need to be identified, was discussed.
Likewise, both agreed on the need to define areas of common work, particularly in this context of COVID-19, with the different organizations and institutes based in Germany and the rest of Europe that specialize in studies on the Latin American and Caribbean region. Based on the complementarity of the work agendas, the possibility was raised of facilitating a space for dialogue between these European organizations, which would make it possible to identify a relevant bi-regional agenda that would nurture political dialogue between the two regions.
