Christian Heinsen is the Executive Director of Altiplano Foundation in Chile.
The article presents the work carried out by the Altiplano Foundation in Chile, which was also reflected in the book "Arica and Parinacota, Cultural Landscape of America", whose content is centered around the learning derived from the project "Restoration Plan for Andean Churches Of Arica and Parinacota / Route of the Missions". The management of the project has transformed a conservation programme for the Andean-Aymara communities into a public programme of sustainable development with results in the protection of critical resources, in the strengthening of communities and in the generation of economic development initiatives associated with responsible tourism.
