"Latin American and Caribbean Fall" - Edition 2020

The 2020 edition of the “Latin American and Caribbean Fall” Festival was organised under the theme of “Artistic Production and Cultural Exchange in Times of COVID-19”. The pandemic not only influenced the theme of the Festival, but also the Festival itself, as 19 of the 52 events had to take place in an entirely virtual format. 29 events could be carried out in a presential manner, and four events relied on a hybrid format. In 2020, 32 organisations, amongst which were 14 Embassies and Consulates and 18 civil-society organisations, contributed to the Festival.

Mexico, with 27 events, was the country most represented throughout the Festival, followed by Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Panama, Germany , Spain, Argentina, Guatemala, Ecuador, Honduras , Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, and Costa Rica.

Even though, the 2020 edition of the Festival had to downsize, the number of participanting organisations and activities, in spite of the pandemic, indicate the strong interest of the organisations and the general public.

For sanitary reasons, the “Latin American and Caribbean Fall” Festival was shortened from three months to three weeks.
