Carlos Castaneda is the Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador. El Salvador held the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Community of Latin American and the Caribbean States during 2017-2018.
The European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean assumed a broad commitment towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda as well as the Paris Agreement, a result of the most active and visible role played by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). In addition, El Salvador, in its role of Presidency Pro Témpore CELAC, promoted the strengthening of the bi-regional relations, which made possible the celebration of the Second EU-CELAC Ministerial Meeting.
