Jamaica ratifies Agreement to establish the EU-LAC Foundation as an International Organisation

Jamaica became the 35th Member to ratify the Constitutive Agreement that transforms the EU-LAC Foundation into an International Organisation, therefore being the seventeenth State of CELAC to do so.

With this ratification, Jamaica thus attests its firm commitment to the strengthening of the Foundation as an instrument of the bi-regional partnership, mutual knowledge and understanding between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Since the entry into force of the Constitutive Agreement on May 17th 2019, the Foundation has operated as an international organisation, as intended by the Heads of State and Government of the 61 Member States of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, and of the European Union itself.

The Foundation was established in Hamburg, Germany, in 2011.
