The International Conference “The sustainability of democracy in the Trump era”, organized by the Red Euro-Latinoamericana de Gobernabilidad para el Desarrollo (RedGob), [o1] will take place in the Institute of International Relations of Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RIO), Brazil on November 30th and December 1st.
The event, which occurs annually since the creation of RedGob in 2003, will discuss this year how to sustain democracy over time and how to anticipate and prevent its degradation. The topic is especially relevant for Europe and Latin America nowadays since the liberal democracy in both regions have been facing serious challenges in the last years.
The EU-LAC Foundation will support the event in cooperation with the GIGA German Institute of Global and Area Studies (Hamburg) and IDEA Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (Santiago de Chile).
