II Conference CAF/Sciences Po – "The Relationship between Latin America and Europe"

The Latin American Development Bank (CAF) and the institute Sciences Po Paris are hosting the second annual conference on “The Relationship between Latin America and Europe” on 14 February 2013 in Paris.

Since three years Europe is going through one of the most serious crises of its recent history. In contrast Latin America is experiencing a period of exceptional prosperity. While the process of European integration has ground to a halt in an attempt to preserve the Euro zone, Latin America re-launches its regionalisation through the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

The II CAF/Sciences Po conference will address the following questions: What lessons can be learnt from these contrasting regional developments? Do these evolutions herald profound changes in international relations? Is it necessary to review the agenda between the two regions? Is the business climate going to be affected?
