The IdG - Gender Institute is a Scientific Interest Group (GIS) founded in 2012 by the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and bringing together 34 partner institutions.
The Institute is hosted by and works together with the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Paris North.
The IdG - Gender Institute has the following missions : (1) To contribute to the scientific recognition of gender research in France and expand its geographical scope; (2) to increase the international visibility of French research in this field through a variety of support actions, (3) to encourage the emergence of new forms of scientific collaboration, including with foreign partners; (4) to promote interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research in multiple areas, both in the field of humanities and social studies and between this and other scientific fields.

El Instituto está acogido por la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Paris North y trabaja conjuntamente con ella.
El IdG - Instituto de Género tiene las siguientes misiones : (1) Contribuir al reconocimiento científico de la investigación sobre el género en Francia y ampliar su ámbito geográfico; (2) aumentar la visibilidad internacional de la investigación francesa en este campo mediante diversas acciones de apoyo, (3) fomentar la aparición de nuevas formas de colaboración científica, incluso con socios extranjeros; (4) promover la investigación interdisciplinaria y transversal en múltiples ámbitos, tanto en el campo de las humanidades y los estudios sociales como entre éste y otros campos científicos.
