High Council for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres)

Hcéres is the French public service agency responsible for the periodic evaluation of all State-contracted higher education and research institutions in France, their study programmes (bachelor's degree, master’s degree and doctorate-level) and their research units. It also evaluates research bodies and groupings of institutions. Hcéres operates according to a European framework. At the European and international levels, Hcéres participates actively in networks of quality assurance agencies and responds to calls for tender in which it contributes its expertise as an evaluator. As a committed player, it also develops exchanges of experience and collaboration with other agencies and foreign players in higher education.
