Green energy in Latin America: opportunities for the EU-LAC cooperation

The effects of climate change remain a challenge at the global level. Landslides, water shortages as well as floods prove that Latin America and the Caribbean is a particularly vulnerable region.  Nevertheless, mitigation of the climate change effects in the region must be done through the implementation of renewable energies. In order to move forward, it is necessary to intensify policies between Latin America and the Caribbean and the EU with the objective of achieving improvements in the management of solar and wind resources in Latin American electrical systems, among others.
