Forum-Workshop entitled “Partnership between Latin America and the Caribbean and the European Union – Outlook for the I CELAC-EU Summit”

The Centro Latinoamericano para las Relaciones con Europa (CELARE) and the Universidad Pedro de Valdivia (UPV) are co-organizing a Forum-Workshop entitled “Partnership between Latin America and the Caribbean and the European Union – Outlook for the I CELAC-EU Summit”. The workshop seeks to contribute to the preparations of the I CELAC-EU Summit of Heads of State and Government, to take place in January 2013, which will focus on the following theme: “Alliance for Sustainable Development: Promoting Investment with  Social and Environmental Quality”.

The forum’s objective is to reflect on the relation between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean. It will analyse the relation’s progress and challenges, highlight the political, economic, social and cultural role of the relation between both regions, and assess the achievements and outstanding issues to be addressed 10 years after the Chile – EU Association Agreement.
