Foreign Minister Meeting and XLVII Senior Official Meeting

Today starts in Dominican Republic the Foreign Minister Meeting and the XLVIII Senior Officials Meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the European Union (EU).

The meeting will be opened by the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vicepresident, Federica Mogherini and the Foreign Minister of the Dominican Republic, Miguel Vargas. During the opening act, the president of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina will be participating.

 Dr. Leonel Fernández Reyna and Paola Amadei, respectively the President and Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation, will be attending the meeting, given that the signing of the agreement that establishes the Foundation with headquarters in Hamburg (Germany) as an international organization is sought.

During the meeting the Foreign Ministers and Senior Officials will carry out a comprehensive review of the adopted decisions in the II Summit of Heads of State and Government, which took place in Brussels, Belgium in 2015. Also, they will approve the Santo Domingo Declaration on Wednesday, having finished their meeting.
