Financing Energy Transitions in the European Union and in Latin America and the Caribbean

In the field of renewable energies, the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean have implemented successful instruments such as auctions specialised in wind energy in Brazil and the implantation of renewable energy sources in Germany. While both regions face common challenges, it is crucial to bear in mind the failures of the market, the available options and to analyse the effects with regards to technological development. These steps will allow to strengthen bi-regional experiences and to activate financing mechanisms for the energy transactions.
