The EU-LAC Young ScientistsNetworks Days were inviting representatives of networks and groups of young European, Latin American, and Caribbean scientists who are pursuing a PhD, or are engaged as junior researchers, whose field of study is relevant to Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, or to the bi-regional partnership itself, in order to offer them a space for:

  1. the articulation of their concerns, needs, ideas and perspectives on the EU-CELAC Common Area of Higher Education and bi-regional cooperation in Science, Technology, and Innovation;
  2. the elaboration of proposals and inputs for dialogue with universities, university associations and decision-makers in the realm of science from both regions; and
  3. the facilitation of their interaction, the increase of their visibility and the strengthening of their networks.

In February 2022, the Foundation launched an open call to invite PhD students and junior researchers to submit a proposal and register for the event.

The call for proposals has received an enormous response, particularly from young researchers and PhD students in Latin America and the Caribbean. After an internal evaluation process of a large number of submitted proposals, the programme of the conference has been constructed and can be found in the attachment.

The EU-LAC Foundation would like to thank all entities associated with the event from both regions (ANUIES, ASCUN, AUGM, AUGM, EU-CELAC University Council, CSUCA, ENLACES, EUA, FAP-ALCUE, FAUBAI, INILAT, LERU, OBREAL Global, OEI, SEGIB, SBPC, UC, UDUAL) for having disseminated the call and for delegating representatives as commentators to the different thematic sessions of the Conference.

We would also like to express our gratitude to EURAXESS for their help in disseminating the call.
