In the framework of the 2012 Iberoamerican Summit in Cádiz, Spain, the EU-LAC Foundation and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation over the next three years.
The document was signed by Luis Alberto Moreno, President of IADB, Benita Ferrero-Waldner and Jorge Valdez, the EU-LAC Foundation's President and Executive Director. It aims to facilitate collaboration between the two institutions, including promotion of the private sector and socio-cultural activities between Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as joint activities to stimulate links between both regions' civil societies.
The EU-LAC Foundation and IADB will also aim to co-organise seminars regarding the preparation and follow-up of the EU-CELAC Summit process, among other issues.
