EU-LAC Foundation joins female empowerment campaign #empowerwomen247

As a demonstration of its commitment to gender issues, the EU-LAC Foundation has joined the new campaign #empowerwomen247 launched by the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment through publications in Facebook and Twitter.

The purpose is to encourage female empowerment worldwide, particularly emphasising the multiple social and economic roles women assume as well as the need for change on all levels of society to advance economic empowerment of women. Although there have been improvements in opportunities for women, they still face many challenges and obstacles in fully developing their economic capacities. Consequently, the mission to empower women is one that will require much effort in the future, 24hrs 7 days a week.

The Foundation has joined gender-based campaigns and initiatives in previous occasions, such as those by Women in Parliaments (WIP) and Wikigender.

To follow up on the campaign #empowerwomen247 and for more information, please visit the official Empower Women website here as well as the social media channels Facebook and Twitter.
