Danish Council for Corporate Social Responsibility

The Danish Council for Corporate Responsibility refers to the European Commission's definition of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Commission defines CSR as '…the responsibility of enterprises for their impacts on society'. According to the Commission an enterprise that fully lives up to its social responsibility '… should have in place a process to integrate social, environmental, ethical, human rights and concerns into their business operations and core strategy in close collaboration with their stakeholders'. The Danish Council for Corporate Responsibility understands the European Commission's definition as follows: 'Enterprises demonstrate social responsibility and create value both for the enterprises and society by engaging in dialogue with their stakeholders and address social, environmental and economic challenges in alignment with international acknowledged principles'.
