Conference on regional integration processes in the Caribbean and its relations with Europe

The Institut des Amériques and the EU-LAC Foundation organized a conference on regional integration processes in the Caribbean and its relations with Europe on 22 October 2012 in Paris, France. The event was organized in collaboration with la Maison de l’Amérique Latine, the IRELAC (Instituto Interuniversitario para las relaciones entre Europa, América Latina y el Caribe) and the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France.

The conference addressed the position of the Caribbean within the bi-regional relationship EU-LAC, as well as the initiatives of regional integration in the area. Among the participants were academics and high-level officials from both regions. The President of the EU-LAC Foundation, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, participated in the opening session of the event and the Executive Director, Jorge Valdez, contributed to the concluding session of the conference.
