During this concert the cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca will be sharing the stage with Malian singer and songwriter Fatoumata Diawara.
Fonseca was part of the Cuban band "Buena Vista Social Club" and amplifies the Cuban Son with Jazz and Electronic music. Diawara counts as a young singer with one of the most thrilling voices of West Africa.
In this concert they merge by searching for the West African roots of Son and adding elements of Jazz, Funk and Pop to the traditional music of Mali.
Both of them count as renovators of their respective traditional folk music.
