Book Presentation with the author: 'The Girl who watched the Trains leave'

Within the frame of the Latin American and Caribbean Fall Festival, the Consulate General of Uruguay in Hamburg, the EU-LAC Foundation and the Cervantes Institute are pleased to invite you to the presentation of the book 'The girl who watched trains leave' with the author Ruperto Long.

The linchpin of this presentation will be the story of Charlotte de Grünberg, whose voyages during the occupation of the Nazis in Belgium and France inspired the novel. Her trajectory thrives as an apology for resilience and strength to survive and attests how the girl who could have succumbed as thousands of others continues to contribute to society through her prominent role in the academic field in Uruguay. Furthermore, it is a call to the value of solidarity towards the victims beyond borders: it was in their new homeland, Uruguay, that the protagonist and her family were able to rebuild their lives and realise their dreams.

We look forward to your presence. Please note the language of the event will be Spanish.
