Argentina ratifies the Agreement that establishes the EU-LAC Foundation as an International Organisation

The Argentine Republic deposited its instrument of ratification of the Constitutive Agreement that establishes the EU-LAC Foundation as an International Organisation on the 15th of January 2023, thus attesting its commitment to promoting the partnership between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean.

To this day, 44 members of the EU-LAC International Foundation have realised the deposit of the corresponding ratification instrument. With this ratification, Argentina becomes the 19th member state of Latin America and the Caribbean to ratify the Agreement, testifying its recognition of the Foundation’s new status to accomplish the objectives and mandates its members entrusted it with more significantly.

The Foundation is based in Hamburg, Germany, since 2011. Since the entry into force of the Constitutive Agreement on May 17, 2019, the EU-LAC Foundation operates as an international organisation, as intended by the Heads of State and Government of the 60 Member States of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, and of the European Union itself.
