Architecture Exhibition on “Rogelio Salmona”

In cooperation with the Colombian Embassy in Germany, the Rogelio Salmona Foundation and the National University of Colombia, the Instituto Cervantes in Hamburg organises an architecture exhibition on Rogelio Salmona.

Just like Bogota, Andean city and capital of Colombia, where bricks are the basic building material, Hamburg is characterised by its ornamental brick architecture. The maestro of the brick architecture in Bogota was Rogelio Salmona (1929-2007), who created outstanding architectural work, which still influence the city’s atmosphere. The importance of his legacy is comparable to that of Fritz Schumacher’s in Hamburg. During the exhibition photos, videos and scale models will illustrate the work of Salmona. At the same time, the exposition will provide a contextual understanding of his work in modern architecture and the modern Colombian city.

The inauguration event will be held at 5.30 pm on the 4th of April.
