Today, the EU-LAC International Foundation celebrates its 2nd anniversary as an International Organisation. Since the entry into force of the Constitutive Agreement on 17 May 2019, the Foundation operates as an International Organisation, as intended by the Heads of State and Government of the 61 Member States of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the European Union itself.
40 Members have ratified the Agreement to date, thus attesting to their commitment to and recognition of the status of an international body, which enables the Foundation to more meaningfully exploit the potential of the bi-regional relationship, making the strategic partnership a reality.

The EU-LAC Foundation was established in Hamburg, Germany in 2011, hence this year marks also its 10th Anniversary.
