Library León Fernández Bonilla

The Manuel María de Peralta Foreign Service Institute established the León Fernández Bonilla Library in 1989, which became known as the Information and Documentation Centre in 1995. In 1996, the Bibliographic Collection of the Library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, founded in 1928, was incorporated into the Centre to be integrated into a single information unit.

It specialises in international issues and foreign policy of Costa Rica. It contains works of great historical value, including the Collection of Gazettes (Official Gazette) since 1880, that of Laws and Decrees since 1830 and the microfilms of the Annals of the Central American Court of Justice.

The entire bibliographic collection is focused on meeting the information needs of its users, which are students of the Master’s Programme in Diplomacy or other universities, the ministry’s officials, researchers and the general public.

The online catalogue can be accessed on the library’s homepage.
