CELAC-EU Youth Days

Organizers: The EU-LAC Foundation as entity in charge of invigorating the bi-regional dialogue between the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean with the sponsorship of the Government of Ecuador as Pro-Tempore Presidency of the CELAC, and the support of the European Youth Forum, the Latin American and Caribbean Youth Forum and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
- Consolidating a bi-regional network of pre-existing youth networks, thereby joining young people from Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union.
- Establishing a platform for constructive dialogue between young people from Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, concerning topics of mutual interest. In this first meeting the topic will be decent employment.
- Engaging the youth from both regions with policy-making by incorporating their ideas and proposals into the intergovernmental process.
Participants: Young people from different member states of both regions, representing five sectors involved in the topic of employment: Employers, Employees, Government, Social
Movements and Academia. During the meeting, the participants are encouraged to develop proposals for public policy within six topics related to decent employment.
Outcome: The outcome of the Youth Days has been presented as input for the EU-CELAC Summit of Heads of State and Government which took place in Brussels on 10 June 2015.
