Conference: Decolonising one's own culture?

In the framework of the Latin American and the Caribbean Fall festival, the EU-LAC Foundation cooperates with the Museum am Rothenbaum - Kulturen und Künste der Welt, MARKK (previously known as Völkerkundemuseum) to organise the conference ‘Decolonising one’s own culture? On the legacy of Hans Heinrich Brüning’. The conference will be given by Magdalena Pereira from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the Fundación Altiplano Chile. 

Hans Heinrich Brüning was a German engineer and ethnographer and one of the most important researchers of the 19th and 20th century. His work focuses on cultures in the north of Peru. Towards the end of his life, he returned to the region around Hamburg and started investigating his home country with ethnographic methods.
