Reviewing the outcomes of the CELAC-EU Summit 2025: New impetus for economic relations between Latin America and the Caribbean and Europe?

This report presents the main outcomes and reflections of the II EU-LAC – UNED Pontevedra Conference, held on 4 and 5 December 2025 and organised by the EU-LAC Foundation together with the UNED Associated Centre in Pontevedra.

The event aimed to follow up on the commitments of the IV CELAC–EU Summit and to examine how these can be translated into concrete actions to strengthen the bi-regional relationship. It brought together government representatives, European and Latin American institutions, academia, the private sector and civil society in a multi-stakeholder dialogue.

Through various panels, discussions addressed topics such as economic innovation, climate action, care work, the rule of law and international security, highlighting the importance of EU–LAC cooperation in advancing towards sustainable and inclusive development based on shared values.
